The Els Club

“I’ve been coming to Else Country Club & Pool since it opened, as I live nearby. The location is genuinely great, the pool area is beautiful, the vibe is chilled, and the music is relaxed. For me it’s very convenient because I can do a gym session and then unwind by the pool, which is exactly what I want from a place like this. That said, it feels like a venue with a lot of potential that isn’t being managed to the standard it could be. Upstairs, the restaurant seems to change regularly (the previous one being The Green Room), and overall the food is average to below average. I’m saying that as a regular customer, not a one-off visitor. Service is also almost non-existent. It has more of a “clubhouse” feel where regulars know the setup and get on with it, but there isn’t much hospitality, atmosphere, or “soul” that makes you want to stay longer or bring people with you. Most recently, I couldn’t even properly relax at the pool because there were so many flies, which gave the impression that pest control hasn’t been handled in a while. I’m giving this venue 2 stars mainly for the location and pool area. Unfortunately, the food, service, and general standards bring it down. I wouldn’t bring a date or family here, but I’ll still come on my own for the pool because the setting itself is great. Hopefully, the standards get lifted one day because it really could be something special. Please don’t confuse this with the actual golf club 261 which is managed considerably better.”
