Angel Cakes Dubai Hills Park

“I first visited Angels Cake on Bluewaters two years ago, right after they opened. Tried it, didn’t really get it. Thought I’d give it another chance. Today we came with family to the Dubai Hills location specifically for the honey cake. Beautiful park and location, but the service feels overcomplicated. You’re asked for a table number even when you’re just standing by the dessert fridge, before you even have a table. We eventually sat outside and the desserts were brought in takeaway boxes — also a bit odd. The manager handled the situation very well. He calmly explained that their concept is low-sugar / no-sugar desserts and replaced everything with sweeter options without any discussion. That was appreciated. The only issue is that this concept should be clearly communicated upfront — we came for a sweet dessert. The original honey cake was very disappointing: not sweet at all, with a fridge smell and no real flavor. After the replacement it was better, but the expectation was already broken. Credit to the manager (admin) for handling it professionally.”
