About

Established as Dubai's oldest public park, Mushrif Park spans an impressive 5.25 square kilometers of natural Ghaf forest and open landscapes in Al Khawaneej, eastern Dubai. This family-friendly oasis offers an escape from urban life with a remarkable variety of outdoor activities spread across its vast grounds. Visitors can explore a 10-kilometer hiking trail, cycle along dedicated mountain bike tracks, or challenge themselves at Aventura Parks' treetop zipline adventure course. The park's unique International Village features 13 models of traditional houses from around the world, while the botanical garden provides excellent bird-watching opportunities. Dubai Crocodile Park adds another dimension to the experience in the southern section. Located approximately 25-35 minutes from Downtown Dubai along Al Khawaneej Road, the park is easily accessible via Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road or Sheikh Zayed Road, with clear brown signage directing visitors to the main gate. The entry fee of just AED 10 per car makes it one of Dubai's most affordable attractions. Open daily from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM (with extended hours until 11:30 PM on weekends), Mushrif Park caters to families, sports enthusiasts, and nature lovers alike. The park provides barbecue facilities in designated sandy areas, swimming pools, football fields, and outdoor fitness facilities, while nearby Al Khawaneej Walk and Last Exit Khawaneej offer dining options for post-visit meals.

Reviews

I am writing this review for two reasons. First, to express my deep admiration for this remarkable place and for the effort made to preserve it. Mushrif National Park is a hidden gem of Dubai - a rare stretch of wild savanna, alive with nature and serenity, just ten minutes from one of the busiest airports in the world. For the four years I have lived in Dubai, this park has been my refuge. Cycling along its winding trails, surrounded by silence and open space, is where I slow down, breathe, and find clarity. Places like this are precious, and I am grateful that they still exist in the heart of such a fast-moving city. Precisely because I love this place so much, I feel compelled to raise a growing concern. During recent visits, I have noticed a troubling increase in plastic pollution along the trails. Discarded bottles, caps, and packaging are becoming more frequent sights- small objects, perhaps, but deeply out of place in such a pristine environment. On one ride alone, covering about 10 kilometers, I counted nearly 30 pieces of plastic litter scattered on or near the path. I collected what I could and placed it in visible piles so park staff could remove it, but this should not be necessary. I truly hope this was an unfortunate coincidence - perhaps the result of a few careless visits rather than a lasting trend. I hope those who left this waste did so without understanding the harm they cause, and that if they return, they do so with greater awareness and respect. This park is not just a recreational area; it is a living ecosystem and a shared responsibility. I kindly ask visitors to take nothing from Mushrif except memories, and to leave nothing behind - not even “just one bottle.” And I hope this message also reaches those responsible for protecting the park, so that together we can ensure this beautiful place remains untouched, peaceful, and alive for future generations. The nature of the UAE is generous. The least we can do is be mindful in return.
